Yoga for Seniors

Bill Skinner, a certified Hatha yoga instructor, is back for a new season of weekly classes for seniors in safe and practical yoga postures and exercises for better all-round health. The class is free and open to all seniors. New students are welcome.

Family Night: Learning ASL

Yes, you too can communicate with deaf persons by learning their graceful and poetic language. All family members can learn the basics, helpful words and phrases of American Sign Language. Megan Gillander, a sign-language adept, will lead the class.

Senior Tax Help

IRS certified volunteers under the auspices of Cornell Co-operative Extension will provide free tax help and electronic filing to seniors on a first-come, first-served basis. Seniors should bring all their pertinent tax documents and last year’s return with them. Tax Help at the OPL continues Monday and Wednesday mornings, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., through April 15.

OPL Board Candidates’ Night and Budget Hearing

The Oneida Public Library Board of Trustees invites the public for a hearing on the proposed library operating budget for the library’s fiscal year July 1, 2020-June 30, 2021 as well as for meeting the candidates for the one board seat opening up July 1. The hearing will be in the library’s Meeting Room, 220 Broad St, Oneida, which permits barrier-free access to the physically handicapped. The library vote on the proposed budget and the trustee election is scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2020, from 12:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the library.

Oneida Public Library’s Youth Services Coordinator, Megan Gillander invites all third to fifth graders to come to the library and discuss the final chapters of “Book Scavenger” and prepare for the March selection, “The Library of Ever,” the first in a series by Zeno Alexander.
